While they have a nice size living room the baby grand is sort of a space hog.
Like hogging the whole entire room kind of space hog.
I wanted to showcase the baby grand in the room but didn't want it to be the only thing in there, right in the middle of the room as you see below.
They needed some seating, somewhere to sit and listen to that beautiful piano because yes, they actually do play it. :)
Time to move the piano.
I had one chance to move it because you don't go moving baby grand pianos around all over the place... they are SUPER HEAVY. It took 5 guys to move it about 3 feet. They didn't have to go far but they had to turn it completely around.
Turning the piano and positioning it towards the corner allowed for seating in their lovely bay window that had been a completely empty and wasted space.
Now they have the perfect space to sit back, kick their feet up and enjoy the music.
I am in love with this color palette. The light blue, beige and cream are so relaxing. It also goes great with their paint color which they wanted to keep.
I pulled the colors from this fabulous rug. It's the Catherine rug from Ballard Designs.
Simple accessories on the console table between the chairs.
This arrangement makes much better use of the space in the room without taking away anything from the piano.
This cabinet across from the piano gives them storage for their music books. The mirrored cabinet reflects light in a bit of a dark corner.
I hope you enjoyed this baby grand piano room tour. It is one of my favorite client rooms I've done as of yet!
