Beautiful Indian Abodes

Indian Interior Magazines are always breathtaking and when they showcase Pure,Traditional,Artistic Indian Homes,it becomes all the more interesting and exciting for me .Imagine my home choc bloc with hard copies of magazines.Seeing them itself is an inspiration. Below are two homes one of the Ace Photographer, Raghurai's Artistic abode and then one designed by the architect Shri Benny Kuriakose. The houses which Mr Benny Kuriakose has designed have a place close to my heart coz they are very earthy and rustic, just the way I want my home to be..

Shashank Johri  takes us through a tour of photographer Raghu Rai's farm house near Delhi.A long view of the living room.Peacock feathers grouped  in a round vase instantly raw attention.A mix of wood and stone furniture with interesting jaali work on the window panes give the house an old world charm. The facade of the house appears like an ode to the stone age.At the same time, the house seems to gel well with the abundant greens outside.

The dining area, the curvy background enhances the old world feel of the house. The theme of the house is neatly maintained in all rooms. The interiors are simple and rustic.Built from local stone mined from the Aravallis,it seems to rise out of the ground, blending in harmoniously with the landscape, almost asserting its rightful place.

This is a beautiful house named "Casa Roja"built in Chennai, designed by the Architect Benny Kuriakose. The Beautiful Mangalore tiled roofs just took my breath away.On a rainy day it must be so pretty to sit and watch the rain:)-This won him an award called Celebration of Architecture

mexican tiles have been given skirting on the steps. The owners are avid collectors,so for furniture they didn't have problem ,they incorporated the old with the new ..

The house of the Noted Interior designer "Rohini Shankar" in the confines of chennai is literally a blue coloured abode. She has tried and incorporated her favourite colour in whatever possibilities in her small space. She does it with windows, glass panes, crockery, ceramics, curtains, paintings and in whatever way it is possible. She has opened the rooms to the garden ,a lush tropical extravaganza. All murals and paintings are by the famous personalities like Henri Rousseau.A wrought iron staircase has been painted in the signature blue. The blue hue runs through the house.Dramatic juxtapositions of colours. From the mezzanine one can see the painting by Chandra Bhattacharjee. The head in granite is by Rajasekharan Nair and the ladder also seems to play a part in the design. If a home can speak of the owner, the this house will shout that its the home of an art aficianodo. She has also used an eclectic mix of furniture along with the modern minimalism.

Home tours are common in Decor blogs.

I bring you some hot Indian Home Tours from magazines this winter. Some homes which have truly influenced me and the magazines are not thrown for kabadi because of the stylish truly Indian homes which they contain. They have been kept to imbibe the spirit which they contain ,as a way to boost my energy when i feel low,to try and impart atleast half of them in my home and also when i build a home of my own,a desire which will be accomplished in the near future.
Monumental in form and yet styled for contemporary living the Dickinsens home at Jaipur is purely in white ,but starking in its beauty.

Fine detailing from the local materials till the linen have been carefully picked up in this home have drawn me towards the home.White walls, white curtains, white table ware, white centrepieces ,white tablecloth, all in its beauty can be found in this home.

The walls are kept clear of any artworks but very subtly embellished with alcove details.
