Gorgeous porch inspiration for spring

Friday, March 20, 2015

First day of spring, and it's been snowing here in Maryland for 6 hours. Hopefully this is the last hurrah for winter. This year, I am determined to have some sort of little container garden on my front porch, so I've been collecting some inspiration.

We don't have space or a roof for a swinging sofa, but how awesome would that be?

I love more "wild" looking containers.

...but I also like the symmetrical look.

I really like pots cascading down the stairs...just not the green orbs.

I keep telling myself it won't be much longer until spring! With a week's worth of snow on it's way I might be dreaming but at this point I am hanging on to my dreams. I'm trying to decide what I'd like to do with my curb appeal this year and I'm thinking simple might be the way to go:

Sometimes all it takes a little extra something to create an eye catching exterior. Since windows are a major part of the homes exterior look, I wanted to give you some good examples to liven them up a little...or just dream!

Adding some simple window boxes and beautiful flowers can drawer your attention to the gorgeous windows.

A pop of color with the shutters makes these stand out, as well as them not being the typical shutters you'd find. I love the simplicity of it.

Adding an arbor and some great lighting can drawer you attention in. I also love that these shutters are the same size as the windows and doors!
