Outdoor Storage Solutions

It's amazing how many outdoor things you accumulate as a home owner. It's start slowly, just a few things you need in order to maintain the outdoors, then there's outdoor entertainment, seating, cleaning, gardening, and before you know it you own a 10x10 tent just in case!

Find outdoor space you never thought you had with HINDO outdoor storage family. Durable enough to handle even the rainiest summer, HINDO lets you store anything from flower pots to gardening tools while keeping your outdoors looking beautiful.

What happens when you have all these items and no where to put them? You get creative.

My favorite way to get creative with storage is to have duel purpose items. Like a side table that duels as a storage bin!

If you're tired of replacing expensive patio furniture year after year, consider these built-in outdoor seating solutions. These creative benches help define the borders of outdoor rooms and create comfortable seating.

Or bench seating that you can store all your pillows and cushions in the winter.

The garage can get cluttered pretty quickly, so using generic baskets and buckets in different sizes can help you keep things organized as your transition through your needs.

If you are someone who has outdoor parties often, finding something versatile like crates can be used as storage or seating!

Bedroom Seating

Decorating a bedroom doesn't seem that difficult but decorating one with a joined seating area can sometimes get tricky! Finding the right pieces that compliment each other aren't always easy to come by.

Picking tones that blend well together and using accent pillows to tie them in is a great start.

For rooms that don't necessarily have  dedicated seating area, a bench at the end of the bed is a great alternative!

It's important to decide if you want the seating area to stand out or the bed. Which one do you want your eye to gravitate to more?

Sticking with comfort and serene is a great idea since this is your bedroom, you do want it to be a place that creates a calm atmosphere.

A window seat does double duty! You have a great seating area with plenty of storage underneath!

Small Spaces done right

It's difficult to create a roomy feel when you are limited on square footage. Here are a few examples of different spaces that I think are done well for limited space.

A bedroom doesn't have to be large to be glamorous. You also don't need a lot in a bedroom to make it a bedroom! A bed and a side table will do just fine since this is a room for sleeping. Keep is simple with a touch of your personality to make it homey.

Laundry rooms can be extravagant or simple but making the most of the space you have is what makes it stand out. This simple closet doesn't look like much but it has everything you need.

An office doesn't require a room, a little nook or corner will do just fine! I love when paint is used to separate a space like this. Keep it simple and clutter free so it doesn't matter where in the home it is!

Closets are so personal. Everyone has different priorities for them and different needs whether it's shelving, hanging space, or shoe storage! When the closet is small sometimes you can feel limited to how you can design it to fit your needs, but this picture proves that you still can!

Sometimes a dinning room room table or a kitchen table aren't a necessary! If you don't have a large family, a dinning room might be a waste of space. This kitchen nook is perfect for small spaces and the extra storage on the side is a great bonus.

Powder rooms tend to be small, but what do you do if you have a tiny powder room? This one is done so well! With a skinny sink to give youroom to walk and a bold pattern behind the toilet, this space looks well designed even though it's super small!

Small spaces require a different way of thinking but it doesn't have to be difficult.

Living in a small space? Here are 11 great ways to maximize and decorate tiny spaces.

Make items have duel purposes! Storage and seating? Looks like a win win to me!

Make it cozy. There's something about a comfortable space that makes you love it no matter the size.

Utilize every nook and cranny! A closet might be better used as an office instead of storage space.

intentional use of limited space is the core of small space design.

Your decor can be functional! Just because it's something that you use daily, doesn't mean it can be pretty and on a shelf for all to see.

Get creative with the square footage you do have. Make items that can be put away, hidden, or stored but easily accessed.

A Look Back at 2014

It's been a wonderful year on decorology! Our viewers have grown, and I feel like I have as too! This year I got married, moved into a new home, and welcomed a new dog into our family! Here's a look back on what your favorite posts were in 2014:

When it comes to hanging your clothing, if your space is lacking a built-in closet, a stand-in wardrobe can be just as effective. By adding in shelving, baskets, shoe racks, drawer units and even pin-boards for outfit inspiration, you have a custom closet solution tailored to your personal needs.

The ratings this year say that small is in! It seems we are all trying to downsize with the economy taking a toll on us this year. I'm looking forward to see what we all fall in love with in 2015!

How to Incorprate Wood Crates in your Home Decor

Wood crates are a timeless item to have in your home and can be used in so many ways I can only touch on a few or this post would be enormous! Here are a few of my favorite ways they have been used to create extra storage and look amazing at the same time.

DIY Coffee Table. You can buy these crates at any craft store. Regardless of whether your an artist or creative, I refuse to pay 500+ for a new coffee table. My first thought was making a pallet coffee table. Pallets are free and with a few scrapes of wood you could throw it together fairly easy. BUT, everyone's doing that now, so I had to find

The wood crate coffee table! My favorite part of this specific one is that they added wheels to the bottom to make it mobile. This is a great way to add storage and keep a handy place to set things down on as well.

Wood crate bookcases have been a huge hit and I agree. They are a great way to create shelving and there are so many ways you can stack them to create the look you are going for.

This is one of the most creative ways I've seen crates used! This island is something I would have never expected but I absolutely love it. The crates are gorgeous.

Goodbye are the wicker baskets, in are the crates! This a great storage solutions for blankets pillows, or just the clutter that happens in the living room!

Have open shelving but need a little extra hidden storage? Crates are perfect for that!
