The benefits of a great rug!

There are so many benefits to a great rug.

It adds a layer to your decor. Some of us love layers!

They reduce the noise in the room. Rugs absorb noise so your room won't echo as much.

It's a great way to add color to a neutral room!

Going bright on both hues can make for an eye catching moment.

Labeling your toy storage is a great way for you to keep everything organized, but also teaches your kids good organizing skills too! More toy storage ideas: http://www.bhg.com/decorating/storage/organization-basics/organized-home/?socsrc=bhgpin100713toystorage&page=11

Pairing these two colors made a fun boys playroom above.

One of the wonderful things about the "eclectic collector" style is the ability to say yes to any piece of artwork or any accessory that speaks to you. Even if it's a strange color or an interesting combination of textures and patterns, chances are, you'll find a spot for it in an eclectic home.

Finding Balance in your Home Decor

Whether it's clutter to clean, natural to color, or even the furniture in the home. Finding a good balance is key.

In an open floor plan it's not just about one room. You want to have balance throughout the space.

Balancing textures in your decor is a great way to add layer to your home without adding clutter!

If you enjoy neutrals more, you might consider balancing it out with silver or gold items.

Adding some balance with height is also a great option!

It may take a few tries before you find the right balance you like.

Subtle or Bold?

I'm in a pink and gray kind of mood today and was wondering what my readers tend to lean towards. Bold accent color or subtle ones? I sway back and forth depending on the color but when it comes to pink and gray I tend to lean towards to the subtle side.

Small Spaces - I chose this space because it reminded me on my apartment in Russia. Though much smaller than this, our living room functioned indeed as a space for living. It served as a family room, a dining room, and a bedroom. In this beautiful space, I love the rustic country dinner table that makes a bold statement in a very faminine, soft modern space.

Going Modern in the Bathroom

Most would assume that going modern in a bathroom would make it look even more cold and sterile than it already does, but they haven't seen all the options yet!

Elegant and Dynamic Atmosphere on Israel’s Mediterranean Coast

The right lighting can make any room feel warm and plants get it a fresh look that bring a sense of comfort and color to the room.

This modern floating vanity provides tons of useful storage space! More of our favorite bathroom upgrades: http://www.bhg.com/bathroom/remodeling/planning/our-favorite-bathroom-upgrades/?socsrc=bhgpin052513floatingvanities=1

Using neutral colors along with the modern materials can give it that warm feeling you are looking for paired with some great mirrors makes it even brighter. I love that tile!

Even with the darker tones for a more manly bathroom doesn't have to look cold and miserable. It still looks modern and sleek with a hint of color and I love it!

There are some great vanity and shower tub options that are on Modern Bath that can help you match these looks.

There's a couple of things I like about this room: large round mirror; the vintage wall hung vanity echoes the journey to all of the modern interpretations we see today, but is one of a kind - and those timber tones in a bathroom - sensational.

You could even mix the modern with the vintage for a completely different look! It's a great mix of new and old that comes to life when it's together.

Color crush: indigo and bold blues

So, I don't usually jump on trends, but I have been seeing a lot of indigo and deep blues donning the walls of a lot of mags these days. I have to admit, I'm smitten!

I'm seriously considering painting our bedroom a color like this.  It is large with a high ceiling, and we have a very similar bed.  I think the contrast is really nice.
