Perfect Master Suites

FREE IMAGES For me, the perfect master suite is a combination of a beautiful, inviting bed, a serene and calming color palette, and an edited collection of meaningful personal touches (ie, no unnecessary clutter).

I'm really attracted to beds that serve as focal points - upholstered and poster are my favorites. A couple of sparsely used accent colors help give the room just a touch of energy.

FREE IMAGES There are so many interesting ways to incorporate fabric in your hope besides curtains in blankets! Check out some awesome ways I found:

Frame a favorite scarf.  Even if it's just on display in the summer when you won't be wearing it, you'll get more enjoyment from it than if it were  just hanging in your closet!

Use shoebox lids, styrofoam, or canvas stretchers to mount your favorite swatches as a pretty gallery wall collection.

Hanging your fabric on your wall as wall art is probably one of the most budget friendly options as well as it being so easy to change out if you ever decide you want a different view.

An extra touch to your luxury bedroom! I have always had a little place in my heart for canopy beds and I love how simple this one is. I might be utilizing this idea to hide our heat pump...

Using some favorite fabric on a table or coffee table is a great way to make an impromptu table cloth or runner.

New and pretty ways to use and hang your curtains

FREE IMAGES I saw this picture the other day and it made me think that there are probably a lot of other cool uses for curtains and drapes other than just hanging them in your windows.  Have you ever used drapes in a non-traditional way?

We have a heat pump in our bedroom, and I was thinking a treatment like the one above might be a nice way to hide it without impairing it's ability to function

Deliciously chic and glamorous eye candy!

FREE IMAGES I've been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off these past few days preparing for my baby sis's baby shower, being a freelance web designer, trying to unpack and get settled into our new home, and wiping up puddles of puppy pee-pee.  Right now I just need some gorgeous eye candy to remind me that all my hard work CAN and WILL pay off!

This is actually an office! I love the look - and that wallpaper would look great in my home office!

A super chic and glamorous bedroom

A canopy bed need not cost a fortune.  A little handiness with a power drill, and these industrial pipe rods from West Elm ($69 - $99)  and you've got affordable canopy rods.

White, black, and mirrors = no fail chic.

The leopard and floral is a bit too much pattern for me - I would have gone with white or tan benches.

Love the mirrors, the flower pot, and the beauty accessories.

Tour an amazing Georgian Revival home...

FREE IMAGES This home in Somerset Co., NJ is the home of John Dransfield and Geoffrey Ross. The gorgeous Georgian Revival is full of interesting furniture, history, and top-notch style.

You can tell the home is full of character just from the outside.

I don't think that bed would look bad anywhere.

I love the faux Persian rug in the master bath.  It's water resistant canvas by Dransfield and Ross.  If you're talented with a brush, it could be a rewarding DIY project using a canvas dropcloth.
